‘I have always loved you prodigiously, even before I knew you I smiled as I dreamed of whom I’d love Not a vague chimera, but a roaring of dazzling delights The great universe has winnowed all others away And my inner vision of you is an ambrosial portrait Fancy of enchanted realms rarely become a reality Knowing you I dared the fantasy to sparkling tangible paradise.
